The CIC (Conseil International De La Chasse et de la Conservation du Gibier) or International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation is a politically independent advisory body internationally active on a non-profit basis. With its renowned scientific capacity, the CIC assists governments and environmental organizations in maintaining natural resources by sustainable use. In order to ensure that the measurement of trophies was as objective as possible, in 1934 the CIC established standard formulas for the measurement of trophies which are now internationally accepted: the CIC Measurement Formulas. These formulas have been amended and improved over time, while becoming more widely implemented. Through the CIC United Kingdom Permenant Nation Trophy Commission we are able to assess trophies under the CIC measurement criteria and award certificates and medals based upon those measurements.

 

If you would like to have your trophy assessed you may find the following guidelines useful:

 

1. Please throroughly clean and prepare your trophy.  Especially in the case of Roe Deer it will be in your best interest to bring in the trophy uncut (you may cut it for mounting after assessment).  Please do remove all soft tissue and sinus material from the trophy.

 

2.  If you wish to have a certificate and the appropriate medal awarded, the trophy must have been allowd 90 days since harvesting for drying to take place.  Prior to this a provisional measurement will have to be made and a further assment will have to take place to issue certificates and medals.

 

3. In order to maintain accurate and useful records for future analysis, you will be asked to provide the following information for each trophy assessed; Name of Hunter, Date of Harvest and Location.

You may also send you trophies to us and we will be glad to asses them and return them to you by insured courerier.
