Leaving out the centre column puts the head directly on the apex, which cuts vibration and lets the legs splay right out for low work. The legs are 10-layer carbon fibre (32\/28\/25mm) with CNC-machined, hard-anodised 6061 aluminium parts and quarter-turn twist leg locks, and three angle stops with independent leg spread make it quick to set up level on rough ground. The LS-323C reaches 1520mm and is rated to 20kg, so it handles a heavy camera and telephoto lens, a large spotting scope or a thermal imager without fuss. With only three sections per leg it is fast to deploy and very rigid, at the cost of a slightly longer packed length than four or five-section models. There is a 3\/8in mounting stud for your choice of head, 1\/4in accessory sockets on the apex, a removable ballast hook, interchangeable feet and a carrying case.
