Meindl’s history takes us back to 1683. Petrus Meindl was the first family shoemaker in Kirchanschoring, Bavaria, Southern Germany.

Fast-forward over 300 years and Meindl now produce over 1 million pairs of boots and shoes from their same home in Germany each year. At the helm are Lukas and Lars Meindl, the eleventh generation of the Meindl family shoemakers.

Great boots

Love the boots , I’m generally a size 9. I went for 9.5 and they fit perfect with a good pair of socks in. Very quick delivery. Can’t fault bushwear very good 👍🏻

Non Gortex Boot

The main reason I use these boots is that they don’t employ a Gortex-type waterproof membrane. Gortex boots, in my opinion, are a complete waste of time. For a start, they’re too hot. Secondly they don’t stay waterproof for long - I’d give them a year at most. Thirdly, if water gets in, either through a leak or simply by running down your leg, it can’t get out again. Borneos, however, are a traditional leather boot which allows them to breath naturally, and if water does get in it soon dissipates into the leather. My only moan is that there isn’t enough grip on the heel.

So the doctor told me to ditch the aigle parcours 2 iso wellies size 38 and trainers and find something with more support which I thought would be more painful and recommended a substantial tall working boot. However 4 months on I agree yes the plantar is still there but at least I can walk rather than tip toe. I walk a dog for 2 hours a day in them and can wear them around the farm for an extra 2 hours quite happily (can't really run in them though) I also have morton neuroma in both feet so after that my feet get too hot. As a female size 5 they are true to size but are wide in the toe area but as I live in Ariat Yard boots Size 4 and crocs they are fine. When I first tried them on it felt as though my weight distribution was altered but no blisters and feet have remained dry. Externally they do take a long time to dry out. Now just hope to find a boot for the summer months.
