BushWear NO Tick Wash-In Repellent is a wash-in treatment that protects your clothing, rather than your skin, from ticks, midges and mosquitoes. Each 50ml sachet is added to the fabric softener drawer of your washing machine and treats up to 5kg of laundry, so the pack of five sachets covers up to 25kg of outdoor clothing in one go. The formula binds to fabric fibres rather than sitting on the surface, so it does not rinse out easily and keeps working through repeated wear and further washes, giving each treated garment up to 20 washes' worth of protection. It is a practical first line of defence against tick bites and the diseases they can carry, including Lyme disease, without the need to reapply spray to skin or clothing before every outing. Suitable for technical outdoor fabrics as well as everyday clothing, it suits anyone who spends time in woodland, long grass or rough cover — stalkers, dog walkers, gardeners and gamekeepers alike.

Tick repellent

Used it for the first time on the hill at a partridge shoot and very ticky ground and not one tick on my tweeds it's looking good for the rest of the season

Excellent service, great product.

All good upto now

Purchased this after 2 wkends away and taking over 60 ticks off both dogs (both worm and tick treated) washed all bedding and my clothing in this product and touch wood not had-a single tick after a wkend away in the Lake District so seams to be working ,

Easy to use product - but only fill washing machine to 2/3 capacity (max)

Easy to use, but I think BushWear producers should review the wash instructions. I would say 5kg of clothing in a standard family washing machine is ambitious. I weighed 3kg of clothing to treat and that was really the machine full to capacity, as fleece jackets tend to be bulkier than items like t-shirts. On the low temp (30C) minimum wash recommended, I found that some items hadn't fully wetted out, so hadn't been drenched in the product. You don't want gaps in your tick protection!
So I used a second sachet to retreat those un-wetted items but this time only filling the machine to half capacity. That worked much better.
My advice is to not fill the machine to more than 2.5kg (2/3 capacity max) to allow movement and agitation for complete wetting during the wash programme.
Alternatively: wash the load as normal, then at end of cycle, re-set the machine to "Rinse and Spin" and add the sachet of BushWear NO Tick to the Conditioner compartment at that stage - so that it is treating the fully wet load of clothing items with the Wash-in Tick Repellent.
Time will tell how effective it has been. Fingers crossed for no ticks this summer
