The core of a reloading bench — the dies that size and seat, and the press that drives them.
- Die sets — RCBS full-length two-die rifle sets, and Lee's Pacesetter three-die and Ultimate sets. A two-die set sizes and seats; a three-die set adds a separate crimp stage, which matters for semi-autos and tube magazines rather than bolt guns.
- Shell holders — RCBS and Lee universal holders. Note these are not interchangeable between makes as a rule; check the number against your press.
Full-length or neck sizing? Full-length sizing gives reliable chambering and is the sensible default, particularly for hunting ammunition that has to feed first time. Neck sizing can extend brass life and suit a single rifle, at the cost of eventually needing to bump the shoulder back anyway.
