Kit for the release and holding side of the keepering year - getting poults out, keeping them on the ground and feeding them through to the season.
- Mjoelner spiral spring feeder - all-metal, for grain.
- BushWear Pecker Block - holding feed, for keeping birds occupied and on the drive rather than walking off it.
- BushWear Master Bait Mix for game birds, 3kg.
- American Hunter feeder meter with Bluetooth antenna - for setting and checking a timed feeder without opening it up.
- Game bird hanging hooks and the HME tri-pod game hoist, for the other end of the day.
Worth knowing
- Holding birds is about distribution, not volume. More feed points spread wider will hold a drive better than one heavy feeder, which just concentrates birds and everything that eats them.
- A spiral feeder needs the right grain. Damp or mixed feed bridges in the spring and the birds get nothing; the hopper looks full while the ground goes bare.
- Check feeders on a routine, not when you remember. The point of a Bluetooth meter is that you can confirm the timer without disturbing the birds - use it that way.
- Vermin follows feed. Every feed point is a corvid and rat magnet, so plan control alongside release rather than after it.
For trapping, lamping and calls see Vermin Control. Larder and carcass handling kit is under Larder and Deer Extraction. Decoys for corvid control are in Decoys.
