The kit
- Measures and throwers — the Lee Perfect Powder Measure and the Lee Powder Measure Kit, for volumetric charging. Fast, and consistent enough for most stick and ball powders once it has settled in.
- Tricklers — the RCBS Powder Trickler-2, for bringing a thrown charge up to weight grain by grain when the load deserves it.
- Scales — the Lee Safety Scale balance beam, or the Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Intelli-Dropper if you want dispensing and weighing in one unit.
- Ancillaries — RCBS powder funnels for .22 to .45, baffles for the Uniflow measure, and replacement Frankford Arsenal reservoirs.
Working practice
Check the scale against a known weight at the start of every session, and again if you change powder. Throw ten charges and weigh them before you trust a setting — the first few out of a measure are never representative. And work loads up from current published data for the exact components in front of you, not from a figure remembered off a forum or carried over from a different lot.
