The Benchmade 10 BLK Rescue Hook is a fixed hook-blade safety cutter built to cut fast in an emergency, not to function as a conventional knife. Originally developed for corrections officers, its hook gap is deliberately enlarged to 1in (2.54cm), letting it slice through thick rope, webbing, seatbelts and other bulky woven material up to 1in in diameter in a single stroke — a size step up from Benchmade's smaller Model 7 Hook. The skeletonised hook is machined from 440C stainless steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC and finished in black, with finger grooves and thumb jimping built into the frame for secure control when working quickly under pressure. Carrying no exposed cutting edge to snag or catch, it is a safer tool to reach for in a genuine emergency than a bladed knife. The hook sits permanently open and ships in a Boltaron sheath with a snap retention strap; the sheath is reversible, giving ambidextrous carry in either a vertical or horizontal position, and is MOLLE-compatible for mounting to a belt or rig. Overall length is 6.05in and it weighs just 2.05oz. Made in the USA.
