The Benchmade 7 Hook is a compact safety cutter, not a conventional knife, built to cut seatbelts, cord, webbing and clothing fast in an emergency. The recessed hook blade is 440C stainless steel, hardened to 58-60 HRC, with a rounded tip that keeps the edge away from skin while it slices cleanly through strap and fabric. The stainless steel handle carries a black vinyl coating for a secure grip and a larger handle opening that still works well with gloved hands. At 4.3in overall and 1.5oz it is light enough to carry on a keyring, belt or vehicle kit without any bulk, and it is MOLLE compatible for mounting on vests, packs and rescue bags. It comes with a black nylon webbing sheath fastened by a hook-and-loop closure and retention band, so the cutter stays put until it is needed.
