BOG make support gear for people who shoot standing up in a hurry and sitting down for a long time. The range splits cleanly into three jobs, and picking the wrong one is the usual mistake.
Monopod, bipod or tripod
Monopod — the Adrenaline Switcheroo monopod is the quickest thing to deploy and the lightest to carry. It steadies the wobble out of a standing shot; it will not hold the rifle on its own. Right for walked-up ground and shifting foxes.
Bipod — the Switcheroo bipod and the Havoc bipod give you left-and-right steadiness and let you take the weight off your forward arm. The usual choice for stalking off the sticks where you may be waiting a minute or two for the beast to turn.
Tripod — the Havoc tripod and the Death Grip range are for static work: a high seat, a lamping vehicle, zeroing, or sitting over a rape field at last light. The Death Grip is the one that sets BOG apart — it clamps the rifle rather than cradling it, so you can let go entirely and the gun stays pointed where you left it. Useful for zeroing and for long waits, and it comes in carbon for weight or aluminium for cost. The DeathGrip UltraLite is the clamping head on its own, for mounting to a tripod you already own.
The Rapid shooting rest is a bench and range item rather than a field one.
Worth checking before you order
Match the maximum height to how you actually shoot. Sticks sold as “standing” assume an average build on flat ground — if you shoot off a bank or you are tall, look at the extended figure in the listing rather than the description. The Switcheroo heads swap between monopod, bipod and tripod legs, which is the cheapest way to cover two of the three jobs.
