The Dark 30 Defiance LS 384 PTZ is a heavy-duty, vehicle-mounted thermal imaging camera built for scanning open ground from the comfort of a vehicle — checking fence lines and stock, spotting predators, or getting eyes on permission before setting off on foot. At its core is a 384×288 thermal sensor with 17-micron pixels and sub-40mK sensitivity, paired with a 30mm germanium lens and 1-8x digital zoom, giving a detection range out to around 1150m. Continuous 360° pan and tilt lets you sweep the whole area around the vehicle without leaving the cab, and the image is sent, near enough in real time, to a dedicated 10.1" LCD screen at 1920×1200 resolution — Dark 30 describe it as the only PTZ system on the market with a direct camera-to-screen link. Five colour palettes, including White Hot, Black Hot and Rainbow, cover everything from quick hotspot detection to picking out fine detail on a distant target. The aluminium body is IP66-rated and built to run from -20°C to +50°C, and it mounts by suction cup, magnetic feet or a permanent bolt fitting, with all hardware supplied. The free Dark 30 app adds smartphone control over Android and iOS.
