Gr8Fun make steel reactive targets for the back garden and the informal range - spinners, knockdowns and resetting quarry silhouettes that tell you you have hit without walking down to check.
Choose the target for the rifle, not the other way round
Most of this range is built for airgun energies. The triple spinner is the one rated for rimfire, and that distinction matters: a plate sized for a pellet will deform, and eventually fail, under .22 rimfire. Read the rating before you set anything up, and if in doubt use it at airgun power only.
Backstop and distance
A spinner is a target, not a backstop. Steel deflects - it is designed to, that is how it swings - and pellets come off the plate in a cone. Set up with a proper backstop behind the target, a safe angle, and enough distance that a deflection has run out of energy before it reaches anything. Close range on hard steel is where the trouble starts.
Eye protection is not optional for anyone on the firing point, and that includes the person standing behind you watching.
What each type is for
- Post spinners - single and double, the standard plinking target. Cheap to run, instant feedback, and they reset themselves as they swing.
- Kill Zone resetting quarry - the bunny and crow silhouettes drop and reset from the firing point with a cord, which is the useful bit: no walk-down between strings.
- Bottle blank holders - reactive without the litter of shooting actual bottles.
- Pellet drop zeroing cards - a hundred cards and ten holders, for the unglamorous job these targets do not do. Zero on paper, then go and have fun on the steel.
