Guardian make traditional leather and canvas shooting luggage in two ranges. They are not interchangeable, and which one you want depends on how hard you intend to use it.
Heritage and Canterbury
Heritage is canvas bodied with leather trim and fittings. Lighter, less precious, and the sensible choice if the bag is going in the back of a pickup and out on a wet December day.
Canterbury is full leather in chestnut. Heavier, considerably smarter, and what most people are after when they want a bag that will look better in ten years than it does now. The Canterbury range includes the Luxian Elite shotgun slip and a 300-cartridge loader's case.
Sizing a cartridge bag
A 100-cartridge bag covers a normal driven day with a bit in hand and is the right size for the great majority of guns. The 300 loader's case is for a loader working a pair, or for keeping the day's supply in the vehicle — it is not something you want on your shoulder all morning.
Belts are gauge-specific. Guardian make the cartridge belts in 12G and 20G loops, and a 12-bore cartridge will not sit properly in 20-bore loops. Check the gauge in the listing before ordering, particularly if you are buying for someone else.
Looking after leather
Bridle leather darkens with use. Let it dry naturally if it gets soaked — near a radiator is how good leather gets ruined — and feed it occasionally rather than heavily.
