H&N make one of the widest pellet ranges stocked here, and head shape is the decision that matters most.
Domed — Baracuda, Field Target Trophy, Excite Hammer — hold their line best in wind and are what most people should be shooting for both targets and quarry. FTT in .177 at 8.64gr is the field target standard for good reason.
Pointed (Excite Spike) and hollow patterns trade some of that stability for terminal effect. Hornet is the pointed hunting pellet; Grizzly covers the .35 / 9mm big bores.
Slugs are not pellets. The .22 Slug HP is a solid projectile that needs a fast twist rate to stabilise — a standard sporting barrel will usually key-hole them. Check what your barrel is cut for before buying a tin.
Head sizes vary between batches and rifles are individual about what they group. Buy one tin and test it at your normal range before committing to a case.
In Scotland an Air Weapon Certificate is required to buy, use or possess an air weapon. Both our shops are in Scotland. Pellets themselves are not certificate-controlled, but the rifle is.
