The HIKMICRO Thunder 2.0 is an entry-level thermal riflescope built to bring thermal hunting within reach of a much wider group of shooters, optimised for air rifle and rimfire use. Its chassis has been redesigned from the ground up around a removable HIKMICRO Li-ion battery pack that can be charged away from the rifle and delivers over 10 hours' runtime. The 256x192px, 12μm sensor offers sub-35mK NETD behind an F1.0 19mm lens, giving 2.5x optical magnification with 1x/2x/4x/8x digital zoom on top, enough to detect a human-sized heat source out to 1000m. A 1024x768 OLED display, 45mm eye relief and 6mm exit pupil keep the sight picture comfortable through a long stalk. Software features carried over from HIKMICRO's higher-end scopes include one-shot zero, picture-in-picture and recoil-activated recording, plus the HIKMICRO Sight app for streaming and remote control from a phone. The scope is IP67-rated and rated to work from -30°C to 55°C, weighs 0.47kg and carries a 3-year warranty on the main unit — a sensible starting point for anyone moving into thermal without wanting to compromise on build quality.
