Hodgdon propellants for metallic and shotshell reloading, and their black powder substitutes for muzzleloaders.
What is here
Pistol and shotshell — Titegroup for consistent light-charge pistol loads, Longshot for heavier shotshell work, Lil'Gun for magnum handgun and .410.
Rifle — CFE223 for .223 and similar capacities, Superformance for velocity in standard hunting cases, US 869 for large magnum cases. HOD-1101 is also stocked.
Black powder substitutes — Pyrodex P fine grade and Pyrodex pellets in .44/.45, and Triple Seven in FFg for rifle and FFFg for pistol. These are for muzzleloading and cap-and-ball work, not for cartridge reloading.
Load data — read this before ordering
Burn rates are not interchangeable and a powder that looks similar on a chart may not be. Always work from current published load data for the exact powder, bullet weight and case you are using, start at the recommended starting charge and work up. Data printed in an old manual can be superseded; check the manufacturer's current tables. Never substitute one propellant for another on the assumption that the charge weight carries across.
The legal position
Smokeless propellant is a regulated explosive. Buying and keeping it requires the appropriate certificate or explosives authority, and there are limits on the quantity you may hold. Propellant is not despatched as a normal parcel — contact the shop to arrange supply rather than assuming a stocked line can be posted to you.
