The Sceptre guns
Multi-choke game guns in 12 bore, 20 bore and .410, including a 26in .410 youth gun and 28in and 30in barrels. They sit at the value end of the market and are a common first gun or knockabout second gun — the sort of thing you are happy to take pigeon shooting in the rain.
Buying a shotgun — the legal position, plainly
You need a valid shotgun certificate. Shotguns cannot be despatched to a private address. Every gun must be transferred face to face, the certificate produced and checked, and the transfer notified to the issuing police force. Order online if you like, but the gun is collected in person from the Perth or Stirling shop. Chokes, choke keys, slips and stocks are unrestricted and post normally.
Chokes
The KOFS multi-choke tubes run from cylinder through improved cylinder (1/4), improved modified (3/4) to full. As a rough guide: cylinder and 1/4 for close decoyed pigeon and walked-up birds, half for general driven work, 3/4 and full for high birds and wildfowl. Fit them with the KOFS choke key — tubes finger-tightened and forgotten are how threads get damaged — and keep the spares in the storage case rather than loose in a bag.
Chokes are not universal. A tube must match the gun it was made for. Check the listing against your gun before ordering.
