Vierzonord, Vierzonord Plus or Chasseur
The Vierzonord is the boot the range is built around, in men's and ladies' fits and in Vert Vierzon. The Vierzonord Plus adds a 5mm neoprene lining for colder, wetter, more static work — a peg in January rather than a walk round the ground. The Chasseur, also in men's and women's fits, is the other neoprene-lined option here.
Calf fit is the thing to get right
It is where most people go wrong buying wellingtons online. The Vierzonord XL has a progressive calf for a wider leg; the standard fit will feel tight over a heavy sock and a trouser leg tucked in. Measure your calf over the layers you actually wear on the hill, not over a pair of socks in the kitchen.
Looking after them
Natural rubber perishes with sunlight and with the dry heat of a boiler room, so store them somewhere cool and dark rather than by the radiator. Use the silicone boot care spray on them, and use the wooden boot jack rather than standing on the heel of one boot with the toe of the other — that is what eventually splits a heel.
