The LÖWE Classic Hunting Shear is a German-made anvil pruner built for opening and jointing game in the field. Löwe, based in Flintbek, has made pruning and cutting tools in Germany since 1923 and invented the anvil-shear principle: instead of two blades sliding past one another, a single cutting blade closes onto a fixed anvil, giving far more leverage and a cleaner cut through bone, gristle and hide than an ordinary bypass tool. That makes light work of field dressing and butchering a carcase, and the same shear clears overgrown shooting lanes and high-seat approaches without reaching for a saw. The blade carries a non-stick, corrosion-resistant coating that sheds blood and fat rather than gumming up mid-task, and a chrome-plated steel body with a centrally guided blade lever keeps the cutting action solid through repeated use. The handles are inwardly curved and sized S-M for a secure, comfortable grip. Cutting capacity is 22mm, and the shear weighs around 280g — light enough to carry on a belt or slip into a rucksack pocket on a long stalk. Löwe supply spare blades, anvils and springs separately, so a worn shear can be rebuilt rather than replaced.
