NANUK Waterproof Hard Cases

    Filter

NANUK make waterproof hard cases, and the model number is the size: the 903 and 904 are small enough for a monocular or a rangefinder, the 900-series climbs through the 915, 925 and 940 to the long 990 and 995 at the top.

      Empty, foam or dividers

Most models come in several versions, and it is worth picking deliberately:

      • Foam insert or cubed foam – pluck it to the shape of one fixed set of kit, such as a thermal monocular with its spare batteries and charger. Best when the contents never change.
      • Padded dividers – moveable walls for kit that does change: a camera one week, a rangefinder and binoculars the next.
      • Empty – for bulk storage, or if you want to fit your own interior.

The 960 is also listed with wheels, which matters once a loaded case gets heavy.

      What to check

Measure the item and compare it with the internal dimensions on the listing, not the outside size. For a rifle, check the internal length against the gun with its scope and moderator fitted.

A hard case protects kit in a vehicle or on a flight; it is not a gun cabinet. Firearms and shotguns at home still need to be kept in the secure storage your certificate requires – see gun cabinets. For purpose-made gun cases see rifle and shotgun cases, and for the kit that goes inside, thermal and optics accessories.
