Petron Archery Targets & Arrows

    Filter

Petron are a British archery maker and this is the practical end of their range - the things that wear out or get broken rather than the bows themselves.

Arrows come three ways. Fibreglass is the club and beginner shaft: cheap, straight and it survives being shot into a straw boss by someone still finding their loose. Wood is for anyone shooting traditional. Carbon is the compound shaft, sold in fives. Buy loose if you are replacing breakages and in packs if you are starting out, and keep a pack of spare points by - the point is what you lose first when an arrow buries in a bank.

For backstops, the 60cm layered foam boss is the garden and indoor option and stops a target arrow cleanly; the 90cm square straw boss is the club-size backstop and will take heavier draw weights. 40cm paper faces come in tens with target pins to hold them on. On the shooting hand, leather finger tabs and the deluxe long leather arm guard or plastic bracer - anyone who has taken a string across a bare forearm only does it once.

Whatever you shoot into, put a safe backstop behind it. An arrow that misses the boss carries a long way.
