Sealskinz

    Filter

Sealskinz build a waterproof membrane between a knitted outer and an inner lining, so socks, gloves and hats keep water out without an overboot or an overmitt.

Where waterproof socks earn their place

They come into their own once your boots have started letting water in, when you are in and out of a vehicle all day, or on wildfowling and ditch work where water comes over the top anyway. They are warm — in mild weather most people are better off in an ordinary sock. The Raynham is mid-length, the Bircham ankle length.

      Gloves and headwear

The Broome is an all-weather shooting glove. The Drayton is a lightweight gauntlet, which is the one to reach for when you want the cuff covered under a jacket sleeve. For headwear the Blakeney is a cable knit, the Bacton a roll cuff and the Flitcham a bobble hat.

      Looking after them

Rinse in clean water, never tumble dry, and keep them away from direct heat. The membrane is what you are paying for and heat is what destroys it.

Stock on this range runs thin between deliveries, so a size showing is genuinely on the shelf. More conventional options sit in socks, gloves and hats & caps.
