Smith's RegalRiver Split Ring Aluminium Pliers are a purpose-built angling tool for quickly opening split rings when changing hooks, trebles or lures. The 6.5in needle-nose jaws are slim enough to get into a tight split ring without marking it, and the anodised aluminium body shrugs off corrosion whether you're fishing salt or fresh water. Spring-loaded handles return the jaws to open after every squeeze, so the pliers work one-handed even when your hands are cold or wet after a long session. Alongside the split-ring tip, the jaws carry a built-in split shot crimper and carbide-tipped side cutters for trimming line or light wire, so a single tool covers rigging, crimping and cutting instead of three. A carabiner clip is moulded into the handle for quick attachment to a belt, jacket loop or tackle bag, keeping the pliers to hand rather than buried in a box. Light, rust-proof and genuinely multi-purpose, they're a sensible addition to any angler's kit, whether tackling stillwater trout or a day at sea.
