Birchwood Casey Perma Blue Liquid Gun Blue is a cold bluing solution for touching up scratches and worn spots, or completely rebluing most steel firearm parts. Supplied in a 3 fl. oz. bottle, it gives a fast-acting, non-streaky blue-black finish once applied to bare steel that has been thoroughly cleaned and degreased and is free of rust. Perma Blue Liquid darkens more quickly than Birchwood Casey's Paste Gun Blue, making it well suited to smaller touch-up jobs on a stalking rifle or shotgun where a quick, even repair is needed. It will not blue stainless steel, aluminium or other non-ferrous metals, so is intended for use on carbon steel components only. A useful addition to any gun-care kit for keeping metalwork looking presentable between full refinishing jobs, it is best used alongside a proper metal cleaner/degreaser beforehand and a sealant or oil afterwards to protect and even out the finish.
