The Hornady FTX (Flex Tip eXpanding) is a tipped hollow-point component bullet designed to bring the performance benefits of a polymer-tipped projectile to handgun cartridges, including the .357 Magnum. This 140-grain, .357" diameter bullet uses Hornady's patented Flex Tip technology: on impact the soft polymer tip compresses into the bullet, initiating immediate and reliable expansion across a wide range of velocities. The flat-tip profile also makes it safe for use in tubular-magazine firearms — a significant advantage for lever-action carbines chambered in .357 Magnum as well as revolvers. The one-piece, high-antimony lead core is mechanically locked to the drawn jacket by an InterLock ring, promoting reliable weight retention and deep penetration. A secant-ogive profile improves ballistic coefficient for better down-range performance compared to conventional round-nose or hollow-point designs. The jacket is reinforced over the shank for controlled expansion and enhanced accuracy. These are component projectiles for handloading only — not loaded ammunition.

Favourite food for my R92

Really enjoy reloading and shooting these. Personally I don't bother trimming the cases down for them as they feed perfectly fine at a standard case length but I can see how it could be an issue for revolvers. Only had them out to 50 yards by would be confident pushing them out to 100+
