The Auritech Shoot is a universal-fit hearing protector purpose-built for shooting, replacing Auritech's earlier Sonic II model in the range. Rather than blocking the ear canal like foam, wax or silicone plugs, it uses a precision-tuned, patented ceramic filter set within a venturi-shaped sound channel, positioned deeper in the ear than most rivals manage. Independent testing to EN352-2:2002 puts the mean attenuation at 29.5dB, concentrated at the higher frequencies where gunfire and other blasts do the most damage — shooting can produce noise levels up to 150dB, well above the 85dB threshold at which permanent hearing loss can occur. Because the filter is frequency-selective rather than a blunt barrier, normal conversation and background sound stay clearly audible, without the muffled, blocked-up feel (occlusion) that plagues cheaper protectors. The tri-sectional body is made from silicone-free, hypoallergenic thermoplastic, with a nominal diameter range of 6–12mm to suit most ear shapes and ages. Reusable rather than disposable, they are equally at home protecting ears from fireworks and other extreme noise. CE-marked and IFA-tested in Germany.
