The 3M Peltor ProTac Hunter is an electronic ear defender built specifically for hunters and stalkers who need to protect their hearing without losing touch with what's going on around them. Level-dependent microphones instantly attenuate sudden loud or sharp noises — your own shot or one nearby — while still letting you hear and hold a normal conversation, with ambient sound amplified across five incremental steps so quieter cues like baying dogs or a warning call stay clearly audible. A 3.5mm jack lets you plug in a two-way radio or mobile phone to take calls straight through the headset, and large, simple buttons make adjusting volume or powering on and off easy even with gloves on. The dual-shell design protects the internal electronics from sweat while shielding the outer cups from knocks, and a stainless steel wire headband keeps pressure comfortable and consistent over long days. Two AA batteries give around 100 hours of use, with an automatic power-off after 4 hours of inactivity to save charge, and replaceable cushions and foam liners keep it hygienic over time.
