The Marttiini Condor Junior (Petite) is a compact fixed-blade knife from the Finnish maker Marttiini, built as a first step into carving and whittling. The blade measures 8cm, bringing the knife to 18cm overall, and is made from easy-to-maintain stainless steel with a safety-rounded tip that reduces the risk of puncture wounds and tip cuts during use. Despite the safety profile, the blade is ground and sharpened to the same standard as Marttiini's full-size carving knives, so it holds a genuinely useful edge rather than a blunted novelty one. The handle is roughened black rubber with an integral finger guard, giving a secure grip and sized to suit a smaller hand, and the knife comes with its own black leather sheath. Marttiini has been making knives in Rovaniemi, Finnish Lapland, since 1928, and the Condor range carries that same puukko heritage into a smaller, more manageable size — a sensible starting knife for anyone new to carving rather than a scaled-down hunting tool.
