The Morakniv Classic Wood Splitting Knife is a two-handed splitting and drawknife built on a traditional Swedish pattern that has been made in Mora since 1891. The 115 mm blade is forged from Swedish 12C27 stainless steel — 80% recycled content — heat-treated to 56.5 HRC for long-lasting edge retention with minimal upkeep. At 2.5 mm thick with a Scandi grind and blunt tip, it handles both the brute work of splitting wood into kindling and the more controlled passes of a drawknife for carving and shaping. Dual barrel-shaped handles in red-stained Scandinavian birch sit either side of the blade, each fitted with a finger guard to keep hands safely clear of the edge during two-handed pulls. The full rat-tail tang keeps the assembly solid under load, and the overall 363 mm length provides good purchase whether you are feeding a campfire or roughing out a woodland craft project. A plastic sheath is included. Assembled by hand at Morakniv's Mora factory in Sweden.
