HME's Economy Game Hanging Gambrel is a straightforward, well-made bar for hanging deer or other large game after a successful stalk, built to a noticeably better standard than most budget gambrels on the market. It's made from 5/16" thick steel round stock, fully welded rather than bolted together, and finished in a tough olive powder coat that shrugs off the wet and mud of everyday use in the field or larder. The bar measures 20.5" between the two hanging points, with a 7" overall drop and 23" overall width, and is rated to carry up to 400 lbs, comfortably enough for a deer carcass during skinning and butchering. Hook the gambrel through the animal's rear legs and hoist from a beam, tripod or gate to hold the carcass steady at a working height, freeing both hands for dressing out. It's a simple, no-frills piece of kit that does the one job it's designed for reliably, and a sensible addition to any stalker's or smallholder's larder set-up.
