The Wheeler Roll Pin Starter Set takes the fiddle out of one of the most awkward jobs at the gun bench: getting a roll pin started square without it pinging across the workshop or scoring the metal around the hole. Each of the nine punches is machined from hardened steel so it resists bending and breaking under hammer blows, and the tip is counter-bored to cup the roll pin, holding it in line while you tap it into place. Once the pin has taken, you switch to a standard roll pin punch to drive it home. Knurled handles give a positive grip even with oily hands, and the set covers nine sizes from 1/16 in up to 5/16 in — enough for trigger groups, sight assemblies, sling-swivel studs and magazine work on most sporting rifles and shotguns. The punches store in a nylon pouch that keeps the full set together in a toolbox or range bag. For anyone who maintains their own stalking rifle, it is a sensible addition to the bench.
