Pard Night Vision & Thermal

Pard build clip-on digital night vision and compact thermal riflescopes. A short range, but two genuinely useful pieces of kit in it.

Clip-on or dedicated

The NV007SP2 is a 4K clip-on. It fits in front of your existing day scope, so your zero, your reticle and your turrets stay exactly as they are and you keep shooting the rifle you already know. That is the argument for a clip-on over a dedicated night scope, and for most stalkers and vermin shooters it is the stronger one. It is available with and without a laser rangefinder built in — the rangefinder version saves carrying a separate unit and is worth the difference if you shoot beyond close range in the dark.

The Pantera 256Q is a 25mm thermal riflescope aimed at vermin control — a dedicated thermal sight rather than an add-on, for rabbits and foxes where detection matters more than fine detail at distance.

Worth knowing

No certificate is needed for a night vision or thermal optic in the UK. The rifle is a different matter, and a clip-on still has to be zeroed and checked on the rifle it will be used on — fitting one in front of a scope can shift point of impact slightly, so confirm on paper before you go out.
