A one-piece cleaning rod from Parker-Hale, made for rifles of .270 calibre and upwards, in the full 44in length. The rod has a hardened, tempered steel core for rigidity along its length, brass fittings, and a tough acetate coating that protects the bore and rifling from abrasion as the rod passes through. A rotating, ball-bearing handle lets brushes, jags and mops follow the rifling rather than fighting against it, giving a more thorough clean than a fixed-handle rod. This example has a female thread, so it takes the common American-pattern cleaning attachments — brushes, jags and mops — without needing an adapter. Finished with a yellow rod and black handle for easy identification alongside other calibres in a cleaning kit. A solid, no-frills rod for anyone who cleans rifles from the breech or muzzle on a proper one-piece tool rather than a folding or sectional rod.
