This Tipton Deluxe 1-Piece Carbon Fibre Cleaning Rod is built for centrefire rifles in .20 calibre, with a 40 inch length to reach the full bore length of most rifle barrels in a single pass. Carbon fibre gives the best of both worlds compared to older rod materials: it cannot scratch the bore the way bare stainless steel can, and unlike coated rods it will not embed abrasive grit that ends up scouring the rifling. The shaft also has enough give to flex under load and spring straight back afterwards, rather than taking a permanent bend. The rod earns its "Deluxe" name from an ergonomically shaped handle that spins freely on two sets of ball bearings, so the shaft follows the rifling smoothly on both the push and pull stroke while your hand stays still. Shank-through construction lets you apply firm, controlled pressure to shift a tight patch without stressing the rod, and a hang hole at the handle end keeps it tidy in the cleaning kit or cabinet. As a .20 calibre rod it uses the 5-40 female thread fitting rather than the standard 8-32, so check jags, mops and brushes are the matching thread before fitting.
