Cleaning rods, bore guides and the thread adaptors that stop them being useless.
- One-piece carbon fibre — Tipton Deluxe rods in .22–.26 calibre, 36 inch. A one-piece rod cannot flex at a joint and scrape a bore, which is the main way people damage rifling while cleaning it.
- Bore guides — the Tipton universal guide keeps the rod centred and solvent out of the action. If you buy one accessory here, buy this.
- Parker-Hale rods — .22 rods in 37" and 44", male and female thread.
- Adaptors — including .22 rod to American brush thread, because UK and US thread standards differ and brushes are rarely interchangeable without one.
Clean from the breech where the rifle allows it, and use a bore guide.
