Slides and toe-post sandals are easy and cool but give no grip or protection, so keep them off wet grass, gravel and anything involving a ladder. The closed-toe sports walking sandals are the better choice for longer days on your feet. Suede and leather uppers are more comfortable than synthetic but do not like being soaked; rinse and dry them away from direct heat.
