      Rifle slings, from traditional leather to modern padded webbing.

      • Leather — Bisley basic brown leather. Quiet, hard-wearing and it improves with age, but it needs feeding and it does not like being left wet.
      • Canvas and leather — Bisley 2" English canvas and the Härkila canvas/leather sling at 93cm. The traditional stalking combination: grippy on a wet jacket shoulder, quiet against a stock.
      • Padded and technical — the Caldwell Max Grip, with a non-slip surface that keeps the rifle on your shoulder on a steep hill.
      • Universal — Napier standard slings that fit rifles and shotguns.

      Width is the thing most people get wrong. A narrow sling is lighter but digs in; 2" or a padded design is far more comfortable if you are carrying a scoped rifle all day.
