The RIX Optics Storm S3R is a compact thermal imaging riflescope built for night shooting, vermin control and deer stalking. At its core is a 384×288 VOx thermal sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch and NETD below 25mK, paired with a 35mm F1.0 objective lens and 3.5x base magnification, plus 1-4x digital zoom, for a clear, low-noise picture from dusk through to full dark. A 1800m/1969yd detection range means targets can be picked out well beyond typical stalking distances, while the integrated laser rangefinder measures out to 1200m/1312yd to within a metre, taking the guesswork out of a long shot. Images and readings are shown on a sharp 1024×768 OLED display, and the scope can record photo and video (.mp4/.jpg) to 32GB of onboard memory for reviewing a stalk later. Built to IP67 waterproof standard and rated to withstand recoil up to 1000g/6000J, the Storm S3R is engineered to sit on hard-recoiling rifles as well as smaller-calibre stalking rifles.
