SAKO's Gamehead .222 Remington 55-grain soft point is a traditional centrefire hunting load suited to fox, rabbit and other small to medium quarry where the .222 Rem's mild report and moderate recoil are valued. Introduced in 1950, the .222 Rem remains well-regarded in the UK for its inherent accuracy and low barrel wear. This Gamehead loading features a spitzer boat tail bullet with a light jacket over a non-bonded lead core, promoting rapid and wide-diameter expansion even at the reduced impact velocities encountered at longer range. SAKO produces both bullet and case in-house at their Riihimäki, Finland facility, where each round is individually inspected for consistent powder charge and primer ignition. Muzzle velocity is approximately 3,117 fps (950 m/s), giving a flat enough trajectory for the distances at which .222 Rem is typically deployed. Packed 20 rounds per box.
