The Acme 640 is a double-ended gundog whistle that puts two distinct sounds in a single barrel, so a handler can run two clearly different commands from one whistle. One end gives the famous Acme triller, a deep trilling note, while the other is a high-pitch, single-note Airfast whistle, letting you keep one tone for the stop and another for recall or turn. Made in England by J. Hudson & Co of Birmingham, the long-established Acme works that has produced whistles since 1870, it is moulded in tough plastic and measures 90mm long. Acme whistles are frequency-standardised, so a replacement of the same model carries the same pitch and your dog stays trained to the sound. The compact double-tone design suits gundog training, picking-up and general dog handling in the field, where a carrying, consistent note matters in wind and over distance. Pair it with a lanyard to keep it to hand on the peg or in the beating line.
