This Pinkfoot Goose Call from Illinois River is a purpose-built wildfowling call designed to reproduce the distinctive high-pitched call of the pink-footed goose. The body is turned from cherry wood, with the internal reed components made from cedar, chosen for its natural resistance to moisture — a practical consideration for a call that spends its working life out on the foreshore or over stubble in wet UK conditions. Pink-footed geese are a key quarry species for wildfowlers across the United Kingdom, and also feature heavily in wildfowling in Denmark, Finland and other parts of northern Europe, so a call tuned specifically to their voice rather than a generic goose note is a genuine asset when working birds into decoys. It's a straightforward, no-frills call aimed at hunters who want an authentic pinkfoot sound without the complexity of a multi-species or electronic caller. As with any reed call, a little practice pays off, but the cherry-and-cedar construction gives a warm, consistent tone call after call.
