The Sitka Stormfront GTX is a waterproof shell glove built for the worst of late-season weather, when driving rain, sleet and wind make the open hill miserable work. Its three-layer GORE-TEX shell is fully seam-taped, so the waterproofing sits in the shell itself rather than a separate drop liner; that cuts bulk, improves breathability and keeps trigger and bolt work precise. The palm uses a hard-wearing 200-denier nylon-faced GORE-TEX layup with synthetic palm and finger panels for a secure grip on a wet rifle forend or shooting sticks. Inside is a removable, compression-resistant high-loft fleece liner: wear it when the temperature drops, or pull it out and run a lighter Sitka liner glove in milder conditions. A short gauntlet tucks neatly under the cuff of a rain jacket so water cannot run down into the glove. The GORE OPTIFADE Open Country pattern is designed for open, rocky ground above the treeline at engagement distances of 50 yards and beyond, which makes it a sound match for hill stalking.
