ACME 507 Hardwood Predator Call
S3653
The ACME 507 is a mouth-blown hardwood predator call built to imitate the squeal of a distressed rabbit, the sound that draws a fox in to investigate. Turned from hardwood and made in England by J. Hudson & Co of Birmingham, the firm behind ACME whistles since 1870, it has the volume to carry across open ground when you need to reach a fox at distance, then a sensitive reed that lets you back off to the quieter, muffled cries that coax a wary animal through those last few yards. Control comes down to breath and a cupped hand over the bell: blow hard for loud, quavering squeals to pull a fox off the skyline, then soften and stagger your breath for the broken, dying-rabbit notes that close the gap. It suits fox control and general predator calling, and works alongside other calls to vary the sequence on a cautious customer. Compact enough to live on a lanyard in the jacket, it is a simple, durable tool that rewards a little practice in the field.
