The ACME 574 is a plastic duck call built for the realities of a wildfowling morning. Its plastic body carries a moulded rubber overgrip that keeps the call secure in cold, wet hands when you are tucked into a creek or behind the decoys in driving rain, where a smooth body would slip. A fully adjustable reed lets you work the full mallard vocabulary, from the deeper notes of a drake down to the higher pitch of a hen, so you can run feeding chuckles, aggressive fighting calls and relaxed greeting quacks as the situation demands. With a little practice it will reproduce the whole range of a duck's vocal calls, which makes it a versatile choice for wildfowlers working flighting ponds, foreshore and inland flooded ground. The rubber grip earns its keep on rough days, giving better handling in the wet than a bare plastic call. Like every ACME whistle and call, the 574 is made by J.
