The H&N Slug HP Sampler Set gives .22 calibre PCP shooters a practical way to find the right slug weight for their barrel and power plant without committing to a full tin of each. The set brings together five hollow-point slug weights — 21, 23, 25, 27 and 30 grain — all in the .217 (5.51mm) head diameter. Each slug is formed from lead with a special lubricant coating to reduce barrel friction, and every one is visually inspected and hand-packed at the factory. The hollow-point profile promotes controlled expansion on impact, making these slugs equally suited to pest control and longer-range field use. The Slug HP's aerodynamic form produces a favourable ballistic coefficient and flat trajectory well beyond 50 metres, with strong energy retention at range. A minimum muzzle energy of 25 Joules is recommended, though 40–60 Joules gives the best results. Barrels with a shorter twist rate designed for slugs will deliver the tightest groups. Once you have identified the best-performing weight, full tins of the chosen grade are available separately.
