The FX Superior Heavy Smooth Twist X (STX) barrel liner is a replacement rifled liner for FX PCP air rifles, produced using FX's patented process of pressing the rifling into the barrel from the outside. This 500mm liner is chambered in .22 calibre and carries a 1:16" twist rate. The "Heavy" designation does not refer to a thicker barrel wall — per FX, it denotes a different twist rate specifically optimised for heavier pellets and heavier slugs, as opposed to the lighter FX Hybrid Slug which is better served by the standard Superior liner. This liner is sold as a standalone accessory only and is not included in barrel kits. It fits the FX Impact, Crown, Wildcat and Dreamline platforms, giving shooters the ability to tune their rifle's barrel for the projectile weights they prefer. If you shoot heavier cast or swaged slugs at longer range, this liner gives you the twist rate to stabilise them properly.
