Napier Silensave is a 125ml aerosol formulated to protect the inside of a rifle moderator during storage. Sprayed directly into either end before the moderator is put away, the low-pressure aerosol creates a fine mist that settles evenly across the internal surfaces and baffles, leaving behind a thin protective coating carried by Napier's VP90 corrosion inhibitor. The solvent that carries the VP90 evaporates away, leaving only the finest film in place. On the next shot fired after application, the heat of firing bonds this coating to the metal almost like a ceramic finish, so with regular use it continues to guard against corrosion long after the initial spray. Condensation inside a moderator can't be avoided entirely, but routine use of Silensave stops that moisture from causing lasting damage, helping to prolong the working life of any make or type of silencer. A straightforward addition to a stalker's or shooter's maintenance kit, it's best kept alongside other cleaning gear and used every time a moderator goes into storage.
