- Equally suited to use as a decorative garden or pond ornament
- Model HER1500
This life-size Heron decoy from Sport Plast is moulded in tough thermoplastic and finished with a high-strength paint that resists chipping and fading outdoors. Supplied complete with legs and a stable base, it stands 82cm tall and is designed to be positioned beside a garden pond or similar water feature. Herons are territorial feeders, so a lifelike decoy placed near the water signals that the spot is already occupied, encouraging wild herons to look elsewhere for an easy meal rather than risk a confrontation. It works equally well simply as an ornamental garden or pond-side feature, thanks to Sport Plast's reputation for detailed, well-finished decoys. As with any decoy deterrent, it tends to be most effective against herons unfamiliar with the garden, so moving its position occasionally helps maintain the effect. A straightforward, no-fuss way to help protect pond fish or simply add a striking figure to the garden.
