The Swarovski EL Range TA 10x42 combines SWAROVISION optics with a laser rangefinder and Swarovski's Tracking Assistant in one full-size binocular. The 10x magnification suits hill stalking, foxing and open-ground work where you need to pick out detail at distance, backed by a 120 m field of view at 1,000 m and a twilight factor of 20.5 for judging beasts in poor light. Field-flattener lenses keep the image sharp right to the edge and light transmission is 90%. The rangefinder measures from 10 m to 2,000 m to within a metre, and the built-in tilt indicator displays either the angle or the corrected shooting distance — exactly what you want on steep faces. Load your own ballistic data through the EL Range app and the binocular accounts for air pressure and temperature, returning the corrected distance plus the number of clicks for your rifle scope. After the shot, the Tracking Assistant narrows down where your last shot struck, taking the guesswork out of the follow-up. Nitrogen-filled and waterproof, it measures 169 x 136 x 79 mm, weighs 925 g and runs on a single CR2 battery.

Superb Binoculars

The EL Range 10x42 TA is a fantastic Binocular and Rangefinder combo, which includes many additional features that the previous EL Range did not have. The feature which appeals to me the most is the ability to provide the rifle scope elevation settings for a given target at the click of a button. I had to get the TA model in spite of owning the previous EL Range.

Excellent glass and outstanding functionality

Have used these a dozen times since purchasing a few weeks ago. The glass and quality is priceless, I’ve identified deer at a distance that my previous binoculars just wouldn’t have picked up. The range finding technology and link to the tracking app is not so much a necessity but a novelty so far, but I’m sure it will come into its own. Ive still to upload ballistic data for the binos to calculate the drop which is a function I was really after, and if they deliver like the quality, range and tracking ability the. They won’t disappoint. I would have given 5 stars… I’m not saying they aren’t worth the investment but nearly £3000 is a lot. Worth it for me but do consider what you really need.
