The Bisley Vermin Trap No.4 is a traditional Fenn-type spring trap built for controlling rats, mice, grey squirrels and other small ground vermin as part of a legal pest-management routine. It is designed to be set in a run, and like all UK spring traps it must be used in accordance with the Spring Traps Approval Order, which means setting it inside a natural or artificial tunnel suitable for the purpose so that non-target species cannot access it. The trap is approved for grey squirrels, weasels, rats and mice; since 1st April 2020 it is no longer an approved trap for stoats in England and Wales, so users should check the current approved-species list before setting. It is a powerful mechanism and the safety catch must always be used when handling and setting it, with care taken to keep hands and fingers clear of the jaws. A straightforward, no-frills tool for gamekeepers, smallholders and land managers who need reliable, legal vermin control around release pens, farm buildings and game covers.
